Abstract:

Index of 3.75-minute quadrangle boundaries for Montana and Yellowstone National Park, with USGS quadrangle names and dates of aerial photography for the State Library's collection of 1990-2003 black and white digital orthophotos. These boundaries show the NAD83 position of the graticule lines, rather than the NAD27 lines that form USGS quadrangle boundaries. The images referred to by the dates in this layer are available at https://mslservices.mt.gov/Geographic_Information/Data/Aerial_Photos/doqq1.aspx

Process step:: This data set was created by mathematically generating the boundaries of the quadrangles. The quadrangle names and state codes were obtained by geometric overlay of the quarter-quadrangle layer with existing USGS quadrangle and state boundary layers. The DOQQ dates were added to this layer by an Arc/Info AML macro that read the dates from the DOQQ headers as they were obtained from USGS and loaded onto our web page.
